If you care about what happens in your neighbourhood and want a better handle on how local decisions get made, this upcoming Our City Hall: Shape Your Community workshop at Kits House is for you.
This free, interactive session helps you understand how local government works, how City Hall influences daily life in Kitsilano, and how you can advocate for the issues that matter most to you.
What you’ll learn
You’ll walk through practical tools you can use right away, especially as we move toward the 2026 municipal election. The session covers:
-
How City Council and local government shape housing, transportation, parks, safety, and community services.
-
What helps people feel a real sense of belonging where they live.
-
How to speak up on neighbourhood priorities like affordable housing, childcare access, public safety, and climate justice.
-
Tips for getting involved — from making a voting plan to reaching out to local representatives between elections.
You’ll leave feeling more confident navigating civic issues and more equipped to turn community ideas into action at City Hall.
