Kitsilano’s go-to gathering place marks a major milestone, and the summer programming is better than ever.
Since 1947, the Kitsilano Community Centre has been at the heart of our neighborhood—bringing people together through fitness, arts, culture, and connection. Originally created as a war memorial to honour those who served in WWII, the Centre has since evolved into a vibrant hub that serves Kits residents of all ages and backgrounds.
This year marks 75 years of impact, growth, and community building. Operated in partnership with the Vancouver Park Board and the Kitsilano War Memorial Community Centre Association, the Centre remains a welcoming space for everyone—from energetic toddlers to active seniors.
Here’s what’s happening this summer:

Mark your calendars! You’re invited to a joyful afternoon of music and community celebration at Connaught Park for the Centre’s 75th anniversary. Expect live music, games, entertainment, and concessions—fun for all ages!

🎬 Reel Magic: Filmmaking for Youth
Think filmmaking is only for Hollywood? Think again.
In this beginner-friendly, 6-week course for teens, you’ll learn how to write scripts, shoot scenes (even with your phone!), work with actors, and edit your very own short film.

Food, art, and culture come together in this deliciously creative community series.
Chefs from different cultural backgrounds will prepare a traditional dish, followed by story-sharing and art sessions led by local artists.
