Calhoun’s was a long-standing source of fresh caffeine, baked goods and hot meals for students and Kitsilano residents alike. “I used to love studying here while attending UBC, and bought the business when it was up for sale in 2007,” says owner Hiu Wan. What many may not know is they were more than just a cozy spot to study or catch up with friends, they also ran a full service catering company headed up by Hiu’s wife Olivia! From private parties to corporate events, Calhoun’s was behind many delicious meals in the Kitsilano community.
